2m travel cards needed in London

Two million travel smart cards will be required by Londons local authorities for a concessionary fares scheme over five years, London Councils has said.

London Councils, the Organisation that runs Londons Freedom Pass has advertised that they are looking for organisations who are interested in providing card management services, card production services and customer support services.

The contract will start in July 2011 and is expected to run for five years. The value of the contract is expected to be between £3m and £7m.
